Australian Camp Oven Festival (Millmerran)

This was our first visit to the Australian Camp Oven Festival in Millmerran QLD.  The festival ran over two days October 1st & 2nd however we arrived a couple of days in advance and left the day after.  Taking the time to explore the local area, museum and a few off the highway drives, including lunch at the Royal Hotel Leyburn.  Thanks to friends Marty & Nicky and Rob and Ang for their company.

We are told there were up to 1,400 caravans at the event, which was exceptionally well run.  Regular rubbish collection and toilet cleaning were a credit to the organisers.

We did a bit of our own camp oven cooking plus Bobbie’s carrot cake (the first caravan oven use) and lamb in the Weber.
